Good Harbor. Fully immersed at 9:18 p.m.

Way, way too many people at the beach tonight. For the first time in a long time--maybe ever--I wanted to go home immediately after my swim. I couldn't hear myself think--not relaxing at all. Ready to go back to my mornings of quiet solitude.

Public access, downtown Elk Rapids.  Fully immersed at 10:42 p.m.

This photo--or rather, the black space where a picture should be--was the best that my amateur photography skills little iPhone could capture in the dark.   Better than missing a swim, though.

Tubing on Elk Lake with my cousins.

Sunset at Wandawood Resort.  Double rainbow!

Wilcox-Palmer-Shah Nature Preserve, just north of Elk Rapids.  Fully immersed at 1:45 and 4:38 p.m.

Spending the week with my dad's entire family to celebrate my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary.  We're staying at Wandawood Resort, a centennial cottage community on Elk Lake.  We come and go--a few of us are working throughout the week, but even after work, there's plenty of time to relax.  However, the swimmer's itch is terrible and the best way to avoid it is to stay out of the water entirely, which is no fun for the kids.  Yesterday, we packed things up and headed to the big water.  The day started out cloudy, turned to sun and back to clouds by the time we left.  Michigan weather at its finest!

Just barely made it in today, although I spent an earlier part of the day swimming in Elk Lake with family. Excited to do a bit more exploring in that area tomorrow!

Good Harbor.  Fully immersed at 7:32 p.m.

Struggling a bit to get enthused about a fresh new perspective here at Good Harbor.  Any ideas?  Or maybe I'm getting spoiled and I should wash my own mouth out with soap--how could this view ever get old?!?

South Beach, Leland (or "Sunset Beach", according to the locals). Fully immersed at 8:46 a.m.

A gorgeous morning--extremely calm with hardly any humidity. Just the right conditions for collecting a few rocks. I found my first (several!) Leland blues this morning to add to my growing stone collection.
